Titre : Service-oriented re-engineering of 'legacy web applications'

Résumé : Service-orientation views enterprise applications as the orchestration of a set of independent software services that (1) implement functions that are reusable across many applications, (2) can be invoked remotely, and (3) are packaged in a way that decouples potential clients/callers from their implementation technology. As such, it enables organizations to develop quality interoperable applications faster than without services. Legacy enterprise applications are emph{not} orchestrated as services. Yet, they implement many of those reusable functions that could be exposed as emph{services}. Thus, organizations are interested to (1) mine existing enterprise applications for such reusable functions that can become services, (2) package those functions into services to enable their (re)use within service-oriented development, and (3) to facilitate the future maintenance of legacy applications, refactor them to invoke those services. In this talk, we explore the issues raised by these three objectives and propose research directions. We particularly focus on ``recent'' legacy systems, in the form of JEE applications, which constitute the bulk of enterprise applications developed in the 2000's.   La présentation sera faite en français.
