Titre  : Learn to Satisfy: QoS Self-Provisioning for 5G and Beyond

Résumé :

Intelligentizing wireless networks requires a fundamental understanding ofthe impact of machine learning and artificial intelligence on the system performance.Actually, implementing some machine learning capabilities at device level might lead the whole system to some paradoxical situations due to selfish behavior. Thus, selecting the appropriate equilibrium concept and a carful design of the learning schemes are of utmost importance. Here, we discuss the question of maximizing the individual utility when meeting some level of satisfaction would be enough. This talk revisits the concept of satisfaction equilibrium and discusses how it could be implemented to fulfill the service constraints. It turns out that such an equilibrium concept is more natural while designing a self-organizing network. Next, we exhibit a set of fully decentralized algorithms, we have developed in the recent few years,allowing to learn how to satisfactorily fine-tune a device parameters to meet the service requirements.

Bio:

Essaid Sabir (S’06–M’10–SM’14) received the B.Sc. degree in electricalengineering electronics and automation from the Mohammed V Univ. of Rabat, Morocco, in 2004, the M.Sc. degree in telecommunications and wireless engineering from the National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, in 2007, the Ph.D. degree (Hons.) in networkingand computer sciences from the University of Avignon, France, in 2010, and the Habilitation degree (Hons.) from the University of Hassan II Casablanca, in 2014. He was a contractual Assistant Professor with the University of Avignon, from 2009 to 2012. He is Associate Professor with ENSEM, Hassan II University of Casablanca, and an Affiliate Professor with University of Québec at Montréal. His current research interests include protocols design for 5G/B5G networks, IoT, tactile Internet, URLLC, infrastructure-less networking, stochastic learning, networking games, and business models for telecommunications. He is the main investigator of many national and international projects. He has also been involved in several national and international/European projects. His work has been awarded in manyinternational venues. As an attempt to bridge the gap between academia and industry, he founded the International Conference on Ubiquitous Networking and co-founded the International Conference on Wireless Networks and Mobile Communications. He serves as an editor and/or a Reviewer for many journals. He has various executive roles, including thegeneral chair, TPC chair and other roles in many major international conferences.
